Crusaders Storm back to Defeat Frederick CC 3-2

Front Royal, VA – Christendom College Volleyball Team was victorious over the Frederick Community College Cougars 3-2 in an impressive home game on Saturday, September 23rd.

The Crusaders were determined to claim a victory in front of a packed house on Saturday. Despite this, the Cougars were not willing to give Christendom an easy victory. Both teams fought hard in the first set. The set ended with a close score of 25-23, the Cougars over the Crusaders. In the second set, Christendom was unable to keep up their aggression and fell to the Cougars again 25-16. After dropping the first two sets, the Crusaders started the third set determined to make a comeback. With this new aggression, Christendom dominated Frederick 25-10 to continue the match. The Crusaders continued to bring elevated play and came away with another set over the Cougars 25-23. This brought the match to the fifth and final set, thanks to an impressive comeback from the Crusaders. Frederick was unable to stomp the Crusader's momentum in the fifth set. With one final kill from Nora Ross (Sophomore/ Tulsa, OK), the Crusaders were led to victory, taking the fifth set 15-9. This brought the game to a close, the Crusaders over the Cougars 3-2 in an exciting match.

As a team, the Crusaders played a remarkable game, coming back after losing the first two sets. Ross led the team in kills and points. Elziabeth Heisler (Freshman/ Front Royal, VA) also had an impressive game with 11 kills. On defense, Sophie Simpson (Sophomore/ Mandeville, LA) led the team with 21 digs.

Up Next: The Crusader Volleyball Team will travel to West Virginia on Saturday, September 30th, to face The Crown College and Appalachian Bible College.
