Student-athletes from Christendom’s men’s and women’s basketball teams earned numerous awards from the USCAA and Eastern States Athletic Conference (ESAC) following their remarkable 2023-24 seasons, as announced by both organizations. Men’s basketball star John Paul Vander Woude was named the USCAA DII Men’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Year, while two members of the women’s basketball team earned All-American honors and ten total players earned Academic All-American honors.
The Christendom Crusaders (14-10) defeated the Manor Blue Jays (12-9) 85-75 on Saturday, March 16, winning the ESAC Championship and ending their season on a five game winning streak.
On Saturday, February 24, the Crusaders earned an exciting 75-65 comeback victory over the Manor College Blue Jays to claim the regular season Conference Title.
Christendom Crusaders men’s basketball (11-10) bested the Mid-Atlantic Christian University Mustangs (6-16) 71-61 on their Senior Day game Saturday, February 17th, in which they honored seniors John Paul Vander Woude, Peter Ethridge, and Andrew Heisler.
The Christendom men’s basketball team defeated the Regent Royals 82-55 on Thursday, January 18. John Paul Vander Woude (Senior/Nokesville, VA) scored his 1000th point in the victory.
The Crusaders traveled to Pennsylvania over the weekend and won two tough ESAC matchups, defeating the Bucks County Centurions 70-68 and the Central Penn Knights 75-74.
