Starting November 9, Christendom Athletics will discontinue streaming its athletic events on YouTube. Instead, all events will now be broadcast through the USCAA Sports Network, providing a dedicated platform for fans and supporters to catch all the action.

Over $30,000 was raised for Christendom’s student-athletes at the 15th annual Thomas S. Vander Woude Golf Tournament this past week. The event, held at the local Shenandoah Valley Golf Club, saw a record participation of more than 180 golfers, including alumni, friends, and benefactors of the college, as well as nearly 50 sponsors, all united in support of Christendom’s student-athletes.

Christendom Crusaders baseball and softball players were recognized by the USCAA for athletic and academic success. The USCAA announced the All-American and All-Academic baseball and softball teams this past Sunday, May 12.

Christendom College's Athletics Department announced on Wednesday, January 23, the college's spring baseball and softball schedules, which begin February 24th and March 9th. Christendom College will welcome back alumni and friends of Christendom for the thirteenth annual Thomas S. Vander Woude Memorial Golf Tournament on Monday, October 10. The event, held this year at the Shenandoah Valley Golf Club in Front Royal, Virginia, raises funds for the Thomas S. Vander Woude Memorial Scholarship, which supports student-athletes at Christendom each year.

Christendom College's Athletics Department announced on Wednesday, July 6 the college's fall sports schedule, which begins on Saturday, August 27 with a men’s and women's soccer double header vs Frederick Community College.

Front Royal, VA- Crusader Softball took to the field this past Sunday, 3/20 for their first games in three years. The team fell twice to their opponents, the Raptors of Montgomery College.

Student-athletes across the nation were presented with their most unusual fall seasons ever last year in the wake of COVID-19, with many schools deciding to not hold seasons whatsoever. At Christendom, the athletics department worked hard to offer sports teams an extended pre-season, where they worked out throughout the week and took part in select scrimmages as well. Sports provided a healthy outlet for them that helped build discipline both on the field and in the classroom, with twenty-six student-athletes ultimately qualifying for the USCAA’s Academic All-American awards.

In accordance with Christendom College’s announcement to extend online-only instruction through the rest of the semester and close all residence halls, all Christendom athletic events and activities are cancelled for the spring semester.

Christendom College earned the USCAA’s 2019 President’s Cup for Academics this past weekend, as announced by the collegiate sports organization. The award, which is given to the school with the most Academic All-Americans and whose athletes have the best GPA, is Christendom’s first and a testament to the college’s strength in balancing sports success with academic excellence.

From Christendom’s volleyball team reaching its first National Championship to the rugby team earning trips to two separate National Championships, the 2018-19 academic year was full of defining moments for Christendom Athletics. At the center of these moments were 37 senior student-athletes who earned numerous honors during their four years, leaving behind a legacy of sportsmanship and perseverance that the college will remember for years to come.

After a scorching week that saw Christendom’s baseball team go 5-0 and softball team go 5-1, the college’s best players have burst to the top of the stat rankings for the USCAA. Leading in RBI totals, home runs, and more, Christendom’s baseball and softball players are heating up just in time for the second half of the season.

The first innings of Christendom baseball and softball in 2019 are set to begin next week, with the Crusaders and Lady Crusaders beginning their respective seasons. The Crusaders will open their season at home vs. Penn State York on Tuesday, March 12, while the Lady Crusaders will begin on the road against Trinity University on Friday, March 15.
