  • Fall Student-Athletes Earn USCAA Awards

    Christendom’s student-athletes earned numerous awards from the United States College Athletic Association (USCAA) to close out the fall 2023 semester, with six student-athletes earning All-American honors and twenty-nine student-athletes earning All-Academic honors.

    Christendom Crusader Volleyball had a hard-fought 2023 season, finishing with a record of 10-11. After opening their season on August 26th, the Crusaders battled through some tough games leading up to an impressive victory against Penn State Du Bois, 3-1.

    Crusader Volleyball took on the Regent University Royals and the Mid-Atlantic Christian University Mustangs on Saturday, September 9. The Crusaders fell to the Royals but beat the Mustangs later in the day.
  • Volleyball Goes 1-2 at PSU Beaver Tournament

    Christendom College Volleyball Team gained their first victory of the season, going 1-2 in the Penn State Beaver Tournament September 1st and 2nd. Despite a 3-1 loss to Cincinnati Clermont, the Crusaders came on strong in the following game to win their match 3-1 against Penn State Du Bois. On Saturday, the Crusaders were unable to come away with the match, falling 3-0 to Penn State Fayette.

    Christendom College will welcome back alumni and friends of Christendom for the fourteenth annual Thomas S. Vander Woude Memorial Golf Tournament on Monday, October 9. The event, held this year at the Shenandoah Valley Golf Club in Front Royal, Virginia, raises funds for the Thomas S. Vander Woude Memorial Scholarship, which supports student-athletes at Christendom each year.

    Christendom College’s Athletics Department announced on Friday, July 7, the college’s fall sports schedule, which begins August 26 for men’s and women’s soccer and for women’s volleyball. This year’s schedules will feature numerous premier matchups, as the college’s six fall varsity teams aim to exceed last year’s great successes.

    Christendom Crusaders’ Volleyball team was victorious in a home tri-match on Saturday. The Crusaders won their first match against Regent University Royals 3-1 and swept Penn State Beaver Lions in their second match, 3-0.

    Christendom College’s Volleyball team went 1-2 in their weekend tournament in Pennsylvania. The Crusaders fell to Kent Saint Tuscarawas 3-1, swept Penn State Beaver 3-0 and lost their final match 3-0 against Penn State Greater Allegheny.

    Christendom College’s athletics program is set to begin its fall sports season this coming weekend, with men’s and women’s soccer jumping into action on August 27. The games are the first of many on the schedule for Christendom’s numerous athletic teams this fall, which will be playing full seasons for the first time since 2019.

  • Crusaders Honored by USCAA for Excellence on the Field and in the Classroom

    The USCAA honored its student-athletes this past week, with awards for stellar performances, on the field, court, and in the classroom. Christendom was well represented, with Crusader athletes receiving multiple awards in both categories. Six Crusaders were given the honor of being chosen to the All-American Team; an award given to those who show excellence in their respective sport. For performance in the classroom, an impressive 18 Crusaders were awarded to the All-Academic Team. The All-Academic Team is awarded to student-athletes who have completed a minimum of 24 credit hours, played a fall varsity sport, while also achieving a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above.

    Front Royal, VA- The Christendom Volleyball team suffered a tough loss yesterday against the Hawks of Hagerstown Community College. The Hawks defeated the Lady Crusaders in straight sets despite some very good efforts from the Lady Crusaders.

    Front Royal, VA- This past Saturday, Christendom Volleyball defeated the Warriors of Appalachian Bible College in both games of a home doubleheader, winning both matches by a score of 3-0.
  • Volleyball wins Season Opening Tri-Match

    Mount Hope, WV- This past Saturday, the Christendom Volleyball team traveled up to Mount Hope, West Virginia to take on the Flames of Welch College and the Warriors of Appalachian Bible College. The Crusaders would win both matches, defeating Welch by a score of 3-2 and defeating Appalachian Bible 3-0.

  • Student-Athletes Find Success on the Field and in the Classroom

    Student-athletes across the nation were presented with their most unusual fall seasons ever last year in the wake of COVID-19, with many schools deciding to not hold seasons whatsoever. At Christendom, the athletics department worked hard to offer sports teams an extended pre-season, where they worked out throughout the week and took part in select scrimmages as well. Sports provided a healthy outlet for them that helped build discipline both on the field and in the classroom, with twenty-six student-athletes ultimately qualifying for the USCAA’s Academic All-American awards.
